We set off early from the Newark Airport, courtesy of our trusty coachwoman.
We had a two-hour wait for our flight to Saint Louis, during which we looked at weird stuff on the Internet to steel our nerves.
There was a bit of turbulence on the flights to Saint Louis and then to Denver, but smooth flights are for the weak and we had some great views.
(That's Saint Louis. If you get out a magnifying glass you might be able to see the arch.)
And we saw some intense thunderstorms over Missouri.
An amazing storm cloud on our route to Denver
Denver Airport! We made it. This is an indoor garden in the concourse. Good airport.
Took the shuttle over the Hertz. As a Gold Club Member - hey look - my name is right there waiting for me.
Made our way out of Denver to Fort Collins - our final destination for today. The highways are lovely and quiet. The landscape is so big and open - not the northeast at all. Toto - I don't think we are in Albany any more.
We picked up a couple of banditos along the way. They held us hostage from the backseat.
Emma, Tom, and I had a great dinner at Austin's in Fort Collins. It was a big dinner. At one point a waitress dumped some silverware on Emma's head, so they gave us free drinks!! Way to go Emma. You can see her surprise.
Tom also got this dang fine bison burger with extra bison.
Our hotel awaits. We are tired and looking forward to arriving at the ranch tomorrow. It will be an exciting day.
Here is the crew looking eager and western in front of our covered wagon. Yeah.
